Rehabilitation & PT
Post-injury rehabilitation at six Chicagoland clinics.
Strongin Injury & Rehab Group — ION's integrated physical therapy network — operates six Chicagoland clinics that have treated more than 4,500 injury patients since 2014.
Rehabilitation built around injury cases.
Injury rehabilitation isn't the same as general physical therapy. Injury PT requires documentation that supports ongoing claims, functional measurements that match the case timeline, and progress notes that tell a clear recovery story for counsel and carriers. The Strongin Injury & Rehab Group clinics were founded precisely around that distinction.
Post-surgical rehabilitation. Full post-operative programs across every orthopedic sub-specialty — spine, hand, shoulder, knee, hip, foot. Protocols are coordinated directly with the operating surgeon when both are inside ION; when surgery was performed elsewhere, ION will follow the outside surgeon's protocol.
Non-operative recovery. Many WC and PI injuries don't require surgery — but they do require sustained, documented rehabilitation. ION's PT clinics handle these recoveries with the same documentation discipline applied to post-op cases: measurable functional benchmarks, consistent attendance tracking, and progress notes formatted for legal review.
Functional Capacity Evaluations. FCEs are performed by qualified therapists using standardized protocols accepted at the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission. Reports include objective strength, endurance, and functional limitation measurements — not subjective narratives.
Return-to-work programs. Work conditioning, work hardening, and job-specific functional training — delivered in coordination with the treating physician's return-to-work determination.

Frequently Asked
Questions we get most often.
Where are ION rehabilitation clinics located?
Six physical therapy clinics across Chicagoland, operated under Strongin Injury & Rehab Group — all integrated with the broader ION network.
Does ION provide Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)?
Yes. FCEs are performed by qualified physical therapists and documented to standards accepted at the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission.
Can my client attend PT at ION if surgery was performed elsewhere?
Yes. ION accepts post-surgical rehabilitation patients from outside surgeons, provided the surgeon's rehabilitation protocol is shared. For coordinated cases, referring the surgical care into the network as well streamlines documentation.
